Margarethe Schmahl

Margarethe Schmahl ou Grete Schmahl-Wolf[1] (née Margarete Wolf le à Vienne et morte le dans le camp de concentration de Theresienstadt[2] à Terezín[3]) fut écrivain, rédactrice en chef et scénariste[4].

Biographie

Elle publia très tôt dans de nombreuses publications et fut rédactrice en chef de Die Zeit, journal d'Heinrich Kanner.

Active dans le mouvement pour le droit des femmes, elle fonda en 1919 Wiener Frauenkorrespondenz (Lettres de femmes viennoises), qui fut affilié en 1932 à Wiener Feuilletonkorrespondenz (Feuilleton épistolaire viennois)[5].

Des textes qu'elle a pu écrire avant sa mort à Theresienstadt/Terezín ont pu être transmis[6], dont l'un écrit deux jours avant sa mort[7].
