Il est principalement connu dans son rôle de Robert Carmichael dans la série The Carmichael Show sur NBC.

Carrière

Lil Rel a commencé le stand-up à l'est de Chicago dans un club appelé Lion's Den[1]. En , il apparaît dans l'émission Last Comic Standing[2] et, en 2012, avec cinq autres comédiens, il fait renaître l'émission In living Color sur la FOX[3] mais l'émission est annulée en 2013.

Lil Rel fut aussi un auteur, producteur et acteur régulier de l'émission à sketch Friends of the People sur truTV[4]. En 2015, il commence une collaboration avec Jerrod Carmichael pour sa sitcom The Carmichael Show où il interprète Bobby Carmichael[5].

Début 2016, Netflix ajoute à son catalogue américain Kevin Hart présente : Lil Rel : RELevent.

Grâce à son rôle dans le film d'horreur satirique Get Out, écrit et réalisé par le comédien Jordan Peele, il gagne le prix de la meilleure performance comique lors de son premier MTV Movie & TV Awards[6].
