Biographie

En 2006, Roman, formé HC Sareza Ostrava, joue son premier match en senior avec le HC Vítkovice dans l'Extraliga tch. Choisi en cinquième position du repêchage européen de la Ligue canadienne de hockey par les Chiefs de Spokane, il part en Amérique du Nord. Après une saison dans la Ligue de hockey de l'Ouest, il est choisi au cinquième tour lors du repêchage d'entrée dans la LNH 2007, en 136^e position au total par les Stars de Dallas. Les Chiefs remportent la Coupe Ed Chynoweth puis la Coupe Memorial 2008. Il passe alors professionnel avec le HC Vítkovice. Au cours du repêchage d'entrée dans la KHL 2009, il est sélectionné en 1^re ronde, en 23^e position par l'Avtomobilist Iekaterinbourg.

Il a représenté la République tchèque en sélections jeunes.
